Bhandara Basadi, Shravanabelgola, District-Hassan (Karnataka)

Bhandara Basadi is the largest temple in the center of Shravanabelagola.  It was built in 1159 A.D. by General Hullayya, treasurer of Hoysala King Narasimha. 
It was originally called as 24 Teerthankara temple Chaturvimashati Teerthankar Basadi.  It was named "Bhavya Chudamani" by King Narasimha & honoured Hullayya with the title "Samyaktva Chudamani".  In an inscription it is called "Charming Ornament of Gommatapur".

Road: Shravanabelagola is well connected by road from all important towns in Karnataka. You can get here from Mysore, Bangalore or Hassan. Buses from Hassan are frequent. 
Railway Station: Shravanbelgoda(SBGA) is a Railway station now, but it is served only by a dialy passenger train from Mysore (via Hassan). Nearest Big station is Hassan (57 Km) and Bangalore is (157 Km away).
Airport: Bengaluru (160 Km)
