Kesarinath Digambar Jain Temple was built up in the 17 th century by the Jain Rajput business community travelling with the then Muslim Rulers at Jamod village, once a headquarters of Regional Governor and military establishment of Moghuls. Jamod village is now in the Jalgaon(Jamod) tahsil of Buldhana District in the Maharashtra state in India.
The central image of Adinath Tirthankar/First Great Jain Thinkar belongs to the Samvat 1812 i.e. 1756 A.D.

Murals on Jain Culture and philosophy was painted beautifully on the walls of two storied Temple, by the Rajasthani Artists belonging to the late medieval tradition fostered in Rajasthan and Malwa. This is a great contribution rendered by these artists in the service of one of the ancient religion in the world i.e. Jainism. They are the part of a tradition of mural paintings zealously practiced through the 17-18 th century in India.

Inside of temple we find the depictions of various incidents from the lives of 24 Jain Tirthankars based on Jain Mythology as recorded in Trishastisalaka purush, the Adipuran and uttarpuran, having certain sanctity to these events

His renunciation of a worldly life, penance, attainment of true knowledge, the first sermon and the final emancipation are given much attention both by the authors as well as the artists of the old.
The murals of Jamod are one of the best preserved and extensive specimen of the Deccan and are also a really impressive documents of the 18th century Jain Art in India.
