Shri Digamber Jain Atishaya Kshetra, Ajaigarh, District-Panna (M.P.)

किला अजयपाल जो की अजयगढ़ पन्ना जिले के अजयगढ़ कस्बे में स्थित है, किसी समय जैन धर्म का एक आस्था केंद्र था। चंदेल वंशी राजाओ द्वारा निर्मित और विंध्य पहाड़ियों के मध्य स्थित इस किले में कई मंदिर थे जो की आज नष्ट हो चुके है, जिनमे से तीन जैन मंदिर थे । आज उन मंदिरो के बस अवशेष ही मौजूद है । किन्तु पर्वत पर जैन और हिन्दू मूर्तिया यत्र तत्र बिखरी पड़ी है या चट्टानों पर उकेरी हुई मौजूद है । तीन जिन प्रतिमाये यहाँ प्रमुख और ठीक रूप में स्थित है, जिनमे १२ फ़ीट ऊंचाई की शांतिनाथ प्रभु की प्रतिमा, एक तरफ कुंथुनाथ और एक तरफ अरहनाथ के रूप में है । ये प्रतिमाये पुरातत्व विभाग दवारा अधिगृहीत/सुरक्षित करके पर्वत पर ही एक कोठरी में रखी गयी है और जो आजकल ताले में बंद है । यही जमीन में थोड़ा सा गडा हुआ एक सहस्त्रकूट जिनालय भी स्थित है जो अपने गौरवपूर्ण दिनों की याद दिलाता है । किले पर स्थित जैन मंदिरो के भव्य अवशेषो कहा जा सकता है की किसी समय ये मंदिर खजुराहो की तरह ही अत्यंत भव्य और कलात्मक रहे होंगे । इसके अलावा अजयगढ़ कसबे में भी दो जिन मंदिर है जिनमे भी कुछ प्राचीन छोटी प्रतिमाये मौजूद है । इनमे से एक जैन मंदिर का जीर्णोद्धार कार्य अभी जारी है ।
Ajaypal fort which is situated in Ajaygarh town of Panna district of MP, was once a Jain center. The fort which was created by Chandel clan kings and which is situated in Vindhya mountain, has many ancient temples in the fort, in which three were Jain temples. All the temples are in ruined state as of now. But, Jain and Hindu images are scattered or carved on rocks here and there on the hill fort. Three Jain images are situated in the fort (in little good condition). Main image is of Lord Shantinatha of 12 feet height, and other two are of Lord Kunthunatha and Lord Arahnatha. All three image are kept in a store like room which is locked these days due to safety purposes. Here also, a Sahastrakoota Image is situated 20% under ground and 80% above the ground and no care of that at all by anyone/ASI. All these remains keep us remember ancient and glorious days of those. After viewing all ruins and heritages we can say that all these temples, rock-cuts and heritages were magnificent and artistic like Khajuraho temples, carvings and images. Other than fort, there are two running Jain temples in the town itself in which few ancient and small Jain images are situated there. One of these temple is being renovated these days.
