Shri Mahendrapuram Jain Tirth, Chamardi Village, District-Bhavnagar (Gujarat)

Shree Mahendrapuram Tirth is one of The Unique Tirth located in foothill of Palitana, 5 kilometers from the original Valbhipur Taleti, Gujarat, India.

The newly built Tirth is on Ahmedabad Bhavnagar Highway and 45 kilometers from Palitana present Taleti. Palitana is considered as Temple City and in comparison; we can say Mahendrapuram is a small Temple village. The village comprises of 1500 Bhagavans (Idols) with Shikharbandhi temple and Devalays, Dev / Devi idols, Dharmashala, Bhojanshala, Upashray (priest residences) for Sadhu Sadhviji and more amenities. The Mahendrapuram is holy place as part of Palitana’s original Taleti. It has been quoted by present Viharman Bhagavan Shree Simandharswami that ‘Palitana is the only sacred place and shashwat tirth (eternal) in fourteen Rajlok (total universe)’. So you can imagine the importance of the Mahendrapuram location. Also quoted by our Aacharya that whatever the anusthan (mean any ritual like puja, bhakti etc.) one does at this bhumi (place); the fruits (labh) of that ritual multiplied by 100 times. The Mahendrapuram Tirth was established by ‘Sheth Shree Mahendrabhai P. Mehta and Family (Idarwala)’. The master plan contains Main Temple with ‘Shree Tirupati Parswanath Bhagavan’ as Mulnayak. The main Temple is surrounded by Devalays on three sides. The facilities like Dharmashala, Bhojanshala, Upashray (priest residences) are located on the left side of Main Temple. The main Rangmandap (hall in main Temple) is 15,000 sq. which can accommodate 4000 people. There are 15 Garbhgruha and 303 Devalays. The Pratistha of 10 Garbhagruha and 120 devalay were done in 2015. The remaining Garbhagruha and 160 Devalay’s Pratistha with Anjanshalaka was held on on January 28, 2019 the ceremony for pratistha was held  from ‘January 19, 2019 to January 29, 2019’.
